Caldwell Family Centre is seeking your help for families and seniors struggling to put food on the table this Christmas. For those of you who do not know us, we are a Community House that provides programs and services to those living on low incomes in Ottawa’s west end. There are many in this neighbourhood who would not be able to get enough groceries to feed themselves or their children without the Caldwell Family Centre Food Bank. Those who suffer from the isolation and loneliness that poverty often brings benefit from the companionship and sense of community that come from visiting the Day Program and Drop-In Centre. Our afterschool programs provide a safe place for neighbourhood kids while they get help with homework, learn healthy eating habits, and take part in crafts and other programs.
Caldwell Family Centre makes a difference year-round, but the need is greater at Christmas — a time of added stress where convention dictates that we should get together and celebrate with our families and loved ones. For those who are lonely, or those who do not have the resources to celebrate, Christmas becomes a time of despair. Your friends and neighbours have supported us for many years and have given what they can to help this year, but the hampers will cost $5000 more than we’ve raised so far. That’s why the Caldwell Family Centre is seeking your help so that we can provide food hampers to lonely singles and families in need. We are asking that you click here to donate just $5, and help spread the word by sharing this post. If one thousand people do this, we will have reached our goal of $5000.
Thank you! Your help will make a difference.
